Tripoli International Airport Now Open

Today, 8 November 2011, Turkish Airlines made its first flight into Tripoli International Airport, since the airport was closed back in March 2011 when the United Nations Security Council approved a resolution to impose a no-fly zone on Libya.

Turkish Airways have been flying into the Maitiga Tripoli Airport, but are expected to redirect commercial flights to the Tripoli International Airport.
The National Transitional Council (NTC) has also received requests to restart flights from Air France, Egypt Air, Royal Jordanian, Turkish Airlines, Tunis Air and Austrian Airlines
